This position involves public contact with school children, ensuring their safety while walking to and from school. Crossing Guards locations are in the District #205 school system. Regular Crossing Guards work in the morning and afternoon. Relief Crossing Guards work on an on-call basis to fill-in as needed for regular Crossing Guards. Training and safety equipment provided by the City of Elmhurst. Excellent interpersonal and community relations skills. Ability to report road hazards, traffic problems, and safety concerns at student crossing locations. Ability and willingness to tolerate a variety of adverse weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow. Ability to work with children. Ability to give and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to travel to various locations within the City of Elmhurst. Starting Wage: $13.50 per hour.
