Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant
Hourly Pay Range: $19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors. Position Highlights: We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant for our Medical Group Gynecology and Gynecological Pain & Minimally Invasive Surgery located at Skokie Ambulatory Care Center in Skokie, IL. This is a full-time position (40 hrs/wk) and is benefits eligible. Hours will be scheduled/rotated Monday through Thursday between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm, Friday 6:30 am
3:30 pm and 1-2 Saturday every month. This position may travel to our Chicago Lakeview office or other locations for vacation, vacancies and/or medical leave coverage. This position will also be trained to cross cover Urogynecology. Required Travel: Travel to other sites based upon department need. Responsibilities: In this role, you will: Provide clinical care under the direction of the office Physicians and Practice Manager Document vital signs, allergies, medications, reason for office visit and take medical histories Prepare patients for examinations and procedures like Colposcopy, LEEPS, Hysteroscopy Collect/prepare specimens Sterilize and High Level Disinfection instruments and scopes Phone triage, test results, prior authorizations and in-basket management Back-up coverage for Patient Support Associates Perform other functions as delegated What You Will Need: Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required. Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required. Experience: One year of work experience required (1
2 years Women's Health MA experience a plus preferred) previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.
