I&E Instrumentation Governance Specialist
Location: Woodlands, TX Work Schedule: Fully Onsite Salary: $115,000 - $125,000 / year Benefits: 401(k) Includes Dental, Vision, and Medical Insurance Number of Openings: 1 Must-Have Technologies: PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) Instrumentation systems (pressure, temperature, flow sensors) Controller systems for valves DCS (Distributed Control Systems) Cybersecurity knowledge for OT systems Familiarity with IEC 62443 Bluetooth and Wi-Fi-enabled instrumentation knowledge Responsibilities: Develop and write governance documentation and standards for instrumentation systems. Define standard valve controller configurations, especially addressing cybersecurity for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capable devices. Create realistic, technically sound documentation drawing from hands-on field experience. Establish system integrity, maintenance, and diagnostic standards for control systems. Recommend diagnostic tools for identifying firmware or versioning issues. Collaborate with engineers, operators, and safety teams to produce applicable and practical standards. Ensure compliance with relevant safety and industry regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISA). Stay current with emerging technologies impacting instrumentation and cybersecurity. Qualifications: Extensive field experience in I&E (Instrumentation & Electrical), with a focus on instrumentation. Hands-on knowledge of PLCs, controllers, sensors, and related hardware/software. Experience maintaining, calibrating, and installing instrumentation systems. Proven ability to write clear, detailed technical documentation. Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and standards, especially in industrial environments. Familiarity with IEC 62443 and Safety Instrumented Systems is highly desirable.
