Number of Positions: 2 Location: Mt. Clemens, MI Industry: Manufacturing (Coatings, Chemicals) Salary: Depends Upon Experience MUST BE STATE LICENSED Shift/Schedule: 7:00am to 3:30pm (Monday thru Friday) ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Understand electrical theory Understand and troubleshoot electrical problems Understand and work from electrical drawings Understand the safety interlock procedure Understand and troubleshoot electric hardwired and control circuits Understand and troubleshoot PLCs & OIU's Troubleshoot and calibrate instrumentation Install and service commercial and industrial wiring Install motors, troubleshoot, and wire motors Assist in equipment checkout, commissioning, start-up, and terminations for new equipment Knowledge of class 1 division 1 and class 1 division 2 electrical classifications The Electrician's general purpose is to use their skills to maintain the manufacturing site. Be proactively involved with all aspects of safety Perform routine tasks without requiring direction from supervision Train others in skilled trades Involved with the training system to help with the development, support, tracking and individual compliance Read, understand and follow written area safety rules, operating procedures, procedures and policies such as first break, LTCT, hot work etc. Involved in predictive/preventive nondestructive techniques and improving equipment reliability Perform Housekeeping tasks (5S) in the work area (Shop & your Jobs) Perform other duties as assigned by supervision Perform routine tasks without requiring direction from supervision Assist other trades and contractors Work with planners to improve the planning and scheduling system Review work orders Add additional information to each work order to fully define the job scope Make a field review of the equipment involved for each work order to determine total scope of work Evaluate the work to determine whether it should be performed by plant personnel or by contractor Participate in the evaluation of the equipment problem so repairs can prevent future failures Calculate and estimate total cost for each work order Prepare or obtain sketches and/or drawings as necessary Prepare list of parts, materials, safety equipment, tools, cranes, rigging, etc., that are needed for each job Provide necessary procedures and/or documentation Organize materials kit for each job Meet with Maintenance Area Leaders and Maintenance Coordinators Recommend spare parts to be stocked for future work Write job plans and maintain job plan libraries Possess knowledge of: Plant process and support equipment and related components Inspection, overhaul and repair methods for industrial equipment Storeroom items and availability Engineering standards and practices Work permits, safety permits and safety procedures and practices Preventive maintenance programs Specialized maintenance tools and equipment Have the ability to: Communicate and interface with other individuals and organizations through both oral and written mediums Be self-motivated Have the skills to: Read and interpret equipment and design drawings Read and interpret vendor information Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical or instrument equipment Estimate materials needed for a planned job Identify all the tasks required to define a job plan Develop a sequence of events to complete a job Estimate the time required for each segment of a job plan Identify the skills required to complete a job Organize work and manage multiple activities Work with computer systems Our Company: Axalta has remained at the forefront of the coatings industry by continually investing in innovative solutions.
