Coordinator- Shipping
This position will provide customers with information, pricing, and problem resolution to ensure new and repeat business. The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for timely and accurate inventory management, and all related communication to internal and external customers. This position will report to the Facility Manager. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Answer phones promptly, and reply to voicemail within 2 hours, while periodically checking and answering emails. Checking drivers in and out of the facility, and assigning dock doors to the drivers upon check-in. Providing documentation, including bill of lading to the drivers. Confirming appointments using drivers' paperwork and utilizing the Appointments Plus system. Filing and sorting paperwork to meet company requirements. Communicating with employees in the warehouse, making them aware of inbounds and outbounds. Provide appointment times with the various carriers, and communicate dispatch information. Utilize standard reporting process to provide client with reportable information. Accurately enter all customer and inventory information into computer systems, as required. Understand, research, and respond to all questions from internal and external customers. Contact customer with any internal questions on orders or problems. Correspondence with customers as well as other departments within WSI. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: Strong organizational, problem solving, multi-tasking, and decision-making skills are required. Must have professional communication skills, both verbal and written. Have a working knowledge of MS Word and Excel, and computer systems. Must be reliable and also a team player. Must demonstrate exceptional customer focus, and sense of urgency. Must have a High School Diploma. 1-3 years of customer service or data entry experience. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum three years of previous leadership experience in fulfillment operations. Minimum one year in an environment picking, packing into parent units, and building pallets for shipment. PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit for extended periods of time through hot and cold temperatures. Ability to repetitively twist or turn to drive in reverse; and stand, climb, kneel, stoop and squat, as needed. Ability to turn steering wheel on lift truck requiring full rotation of arms and shoulders. Must be willing and able to safely lift up to 60 pounds, and slide, push, or pull cases up to 150 pounds. Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by the company.
