Environmental Education & Career Pathways Intern
The Environmental Education & Career Pathways Intern will support both regional programming and a focused collaboration with Endeavor High School. Throughout the internship term, the intern will lead a series of student workshops centered on green career pathwayscoordinating guest speakers, resume support, and project-based learning to inspire environmental leadership. In their broader placement with TCiNN, the intern will assist with expanding Outdoor Learning Environments, conducting school outreach, and helping facilitate teacher professional development. This dual role offers a strong foundation in youth engagement, project management, and school-community collaboration. Location: Channelview, TX Schedule: September 22, 2025 - March 21, 2026 Key Duties and Responsibilities: Plan and deliver a series of green career readiness workshops at Endeavor High School Mentor high school students through resume development, guest speaker sessions, and capstone-style project planning Support TCiNN's work with outdoor learning sites through outreach, data gathering, and event planning Help facilitate teacher workshops and assist with professional development coordination Attend SCA-led training, complete progress reports, and participate in program check-ins Contribute to storytelling, asset collection, and program visibility across sites Marginal Duties: Engage with other SCA ForUsTree Interns serving in the community. Required Qualifications: Driver's License. Personal vehicle required Interest in youth development, environmental education, or sustainability Strong organizational and facilitation skills Ability to communicate clearly with diverse student and educator audiences Comfortable managing multiple priorities across different school sites Preferred Qualifications: Experience working or volunteering with youth, especially in educational or mentoring settings Interest in green careers, environmental education, outdoor learning, or sustainability Strong public speaking or facilitation skills, particularly with high school audiences Familiarity with project-based learning, youth development, or career readiness programming Ability to plan events or workshops and communicate clearly with multiple stakeholders Culturally responsive mindset and commitment to inclusive, student-centered programming Self-starter comfortable working independently and across multiple school or partner sites Reliable transportation for site visits across the Houston Metro Area (mileage may be reimbursed) Hours: 40 per week Living Accommodations: No housing available. Local candidates only. Compensation: Living/Commuter Allowance: $850 per week All allowances are subject to applicable federal, state, and local taxes.
