Litigation & Investigations and Practice Manager

Banking & Real Estate positions resident in our Atlanta, Birmingham, Charlotte, Orlando, or Tampa office. This role will report to the Chief Marketing Officer. The Practice Managers serve as lead operational support for their assigned Practice Group Leaders. They are responsible for the daily execution of business needs of the assigned Practice Groups with an emphasis on performance and growth, client development, recruiting and retention, and skills-based training. Key Contributions Collaborate with COO, CMO, and PGLs on the development and implementation of annual business plans. Oversee practice group efforts to ensure operational effectiveness, profitable growth, and service delivery improvements, including matter management and pricing. Execute monthly report tracking and analysis on PG trends and needs.

Report on KPIs for performance and growth goals. Share business and competitive intelligence findings. Monitor hiring needs, including addressing skill gaps and resource shortages. Make recommendations to PGL and firm management.

Oversee/manage secondments and alternative work arrangements and monitor workload balancing, capacity, and assignments for attorneys. Collaborate with marketing and business development department to ensure growth in market share and expansion of client relationships. Facilitate the recruitment, on-boarding, integration, retention and development processes for attorneys in the assigned practice groups, collaborating with colleagues in the recruiting, professional development, and HR departments, as well as office leaders and administrators as necessary. Assist PGLs and professional development department with practice-specific training needs. Assist PGLs with practice group meetings and events. Facilitate the associate review process. Serve as a coach and trusted advisor to leaders and partners on group and individual plans. Perform other duties as assigned. The Essentials Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university and 5+ years of related experience and/or training. Prior law firm or professional services industry experience preferred. Strong project management skills and a proven ability to assist with and execute strategic plans. Ability to concentrate on tasks, make decisions, and work calmly and effectively in a high-pressure, deadline-orientated environment. Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to perform a variety of complex and diverse tasks involving independent judgment and critical thinking. Proven communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
