This program requires US Citizenship Position Overview We are seeking a talented and experienced Network Engineer with deep expertise in firewall technologies to join a government-supporting, tech-driven program. This role specializes in the implementation and management of CISCO, Palo Alto, and Juniper firewalls and associated security infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings advanced problem-solving skills, a strong security-first mindset, and a passion for keeping networks resilient, efficient, and secure. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage firewall solutions using CISCO, Palo Alto, and Juniper platforms Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot firewall rules and policies Monitor network traffic for threats and proactively mitigate vulnerabilities Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network security with business needs Provide technical guidance and support for internal teams and clients Stay current with evolving firewall technologies, protocols, and security standards Evaluate and recommend firewall products and vendors for emerging needs Required Qualifications 11+ years of network engineering experience with a focus on firewall architecture Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred) Strong experience with CISCO firewalls and network protocol design (TCP/IP, OSI model) Hands-on knowledge of Cisco FTD, Palo Alto Panorama, and other firewall management tools Ability to translate customer requirements into scalable network solutions Excellent communication and collaboration skills in dynamic environments Preferred Skills & Certifications Broad knowledge of networking technologies and solution architecture Understanding of modern systems engineering and network design principles Experience with hybrid cloud and cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle) Advanced proficiency in Palo Alto and Juniper firewall platforms Relevant certifications are highly desirable: CCNA Security CCNP Security PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer) ABBTECH is an EOE/Minorities/Women/Disabled Individuals/Veterans
