Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to join its collaborative team in White Plains, New York City, NY or Parsippany, NJ. This individual will serve a key function in assisting with the natural resource planning, assessment and permitting of land development and infrastructure projects, and leading specific assignments and tasks. In this role, you will have the opportunity to join an expanding team that is making a difference in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic region by supporting our clients on a wide variety of projects including waterfront development, renewable energy and infrastructure upgrade projects, as well as housing and mixed-use developments. You will be mentored by and working alongside our highly experienced Professional Wetland Scientists, Biologists, and Ecologists will lead to the advancement of your career and personal growth in your profession. Job Responsibilities

Prepare the natural resource planning, assessment and permitting documents for land development and infrastructure projects in close collaboration with Project Personnel; Effectively use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess the natural resource characteristics of project sites for natural resource assessment and permitting due diligence to plan and design projects; Perform natural resource feasibility assessments for development projects; Write and/or review draft due diligence reports, assessment and permit applications; Prepare site assessments and related natural resource figures using GIS and AutoCAD software; Develop permit application packages for Federal, State, and local agencies; In person collaboration with our teams throughout the region, including: New York City, White Plains (NY), Parsippany (NJ), Princeton (NJ), and Philadelphia (PA). Coordinate and perform field inspection services, as needed; and Performs other duties as requested. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or related discipline; 3-5 years of experience in wetlands delineation and natural resource permitting; Professional Wetland Scientist in Training preferred; Familiarity with current New York State, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, local, and federal land use permitting preferred; OSHA 40-hour training; Excellent analytical and judgment capabilities; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; Strong GIS skills preferred; experience with AutoCAD skills a plus; Field work and in office work with a hybrid schedule; and Possess a valid driver's license in good standing and reliable transportation access to remote job site locations. The estimated range for this role is: $72,000 - $104,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.
