Senior Design Evaluation Engineer
The Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) Group, under the Industrial and Healthcare Business Unit at Analog Devices, is currently looking for a Senior Design Evaluation Engineer located in Colorado Springs, CO. Products in this business unit are comprised of integrated device power supplies (DPS) as well as high speed and precision signal chains - targeted towards Automated Test Equipment applications. The Design Evaluation Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing high performance evaluation test solutions (comprising of PCB design, software development, and test methodologies) on bench lab test equipment for device validation, characterization, and qualification of precision mixed signal products. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with strong technical, analytical and communication skills. The candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate while gaining state-of-the-art proficiency and experience as part of a seasoned development team. Responsibilities: Develop product evaluation test solutions for high performance analog & mixed signal integrated circuits (IC). Design, develop and debug cost effective evaluation test HW/SW solutions for characterization & qualification in the wafer probe and package environments. Work with design engineers in defining/developing evaluation test methodologies, test plans and test modes. Define/Create evaluation test schematics and work with layout engineers for creation of printed circuit boards (PCB). Program/Debug evaluation test programs to correlate evaluation test solution results to design engineering simulations. Engage and support local and offshore application teams to resolve product use case questions and problems after production release. Assist with customer returns and the Failure Analysis teams. Participation in New Product Development teams and characterization of new evaluation test systems for future applications. Communicate early and often with senior leaders of various departments. Manage, create, and maintain project schedules that align with product introduction and release dates. Motivated, resourceful team-player who is willing to do 'whatever it takes' to get the job done. Required Skills: Bachelor's degree (Master's Degree a plus) in Electrical Engineering or relevant technical discipline such as Electronics Engineering, with 5+ years of experience involving: analyzing and debugging analog and digital circuits Availability to be on site in Colorado Springs, CO. Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Basic knowledge of analog, mixed signal, and high-speed circuits. Strong programming fundamentals in at least one language (experience with C#/C++ a plus). Bench equipment experience (Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Signal Generators, VNA's, Power Supplies, Source Meters, etc.). Familiar with PCB schematic and layout tools such as OrCAD or Cadence Allegro. Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook). Performing statistical data analysis using Excel or other data tools. Experience with Field Programable Gate Arrays (FPGA) is a plus. Experience with micro-controllers is a plus. Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors. This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors. This position includes medical, vision and dental coverage, 401k, paid vacation, holidays, and sick time, and other benefits.
