Venue Attendant

The Contemporary Austin is hiring a Venue Attendant to oversee rental event operations at both of its museum venues - Laguna Gloria in West Austin and Jones Center downtown. Serving as the organization's representative during private third-party events, the Venue Attendant manages client and vendor relations, facility support, and resolves issues in real time. Responsibilities

Act as the day-of point-of-contact for event planner(s) and vendors throughout the duration of shift Oversee event to ensure that event planner(s), vendors, and clientele are acting within the boundaries of the Client's contract and museum rules; perform rounds of the property during events. Communicate with on-site vendors to meet agreed upon terms during load-in, event, and load-out. Ensure spaces dedicated to rental events are in good standing during rental. Operate a golf cart to transport guests on the property (Laguna Gloria Only). Transport and set in-house furniture. Maintain the on-site bathrooms throughout the event period. Coordinate with vendors and event planners to make sure all items are removed from the premises by closeout time without damage to the property. Ensure guests and vendors leave property by their contracted-out time. Report overages to Site Rentals Manager. Complete end-of-event procedures including event and site walkthrough (with catering and planner), event review, incident report (when applies), turn off all lights, and lock all exterior doors. Qualifications

Excellent attention to detail, flexible, and forward thinking to mitigate any issues Keen sense for client relations, problem solving, and communication skills Must have reliable transportation to both museum locations Must be available for a schedule that includes mostly late nights and weekends, and includes shifts of up to 12 hours Must be available to work a minimum of 3-4 shifts monthly Must be able to lift and carry items 20lbs and up depending on need Experience & Education

Previous experience as a Venue Attendant or Event Assistant preferred How to Apply
