for more information about Fortitude Re. The SVP, Head of Investment Operations is a senior leader responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of a complex and diversified investment platform. This individual will lead a large, high-performing team across trade operations, cash and asset transfers, data integrity, onboarding, investment compliance measurement and reporting. The role requires a strategic operator with a deep understanding of private and public markets, a strong process mindset, and the ability to scale investment operations through technology, automation, and cross-functional collaboration. The SVP will be a key interface between internal stakeholders, asset managers, custodians, and regulators, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with enterprise-wide investment objectives.

What You Will Do:

Provide strategic leadership for the investment operations function, aligning priorities with broader investment and enterprise goals.

Manage a large team across multiple functional areas, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Oversee all operational workflows supporting the investment portfolio, including trade settlements, cash and asset transfers, subscription processes, and capital call funding.

Lead the operational implementation of new reinsurance transactions and onboarding of external asset managers, ensuring seamless integration and timely execution.

Own and evolve the investment data infrastructure, including oversight of the Investments Data Warehouse and data reconciliation processes across Clearwater, custodian, and internal systems.

Drive data integrity and transparency through the development of robust control frameworks and validation protocols.

Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational risk metrics; use data and insights to drive process enhancements and automation initiatives.

Champion the use of technology, including automation tools, AI, and workflow platforms to streamline manual processes and scale operations efficiently.

Act as the principal liaison for internal and external audit engagements and regulatory inquiries related to investment operations.

Ensure portfolio compliance with investment guidelines and reinsurance treaty provisions, in partnership with Risk, Legal, and Compliance teams.

Oversee private asset security master data, ratings, and analytics, ensuring accurate and timely updates.

Support senior investment leadership with operational insights and reporting across the investment platform.

Build and maintain strong partnerships across asset management, finance, IT, legal, compliance, and third-party service providers.

What You Will Have:

15+ years of progressive experience in investment operations, asset management, insurance, or reinsurance.

Proven experience managing and scaling high-performing teams.

Demonstrated ability to delegate effectively and develop team capabilities through coaching, training, and mentorship, ensuring operational resilience and succession planning.

Strong knowledge of private credit/equity instruments and middle/back-office functions.

Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CAIA) a plus.

Expertise in Clearwater, Bloomberg, and/or similar platforms; advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Experience with coding or data tools (e.g., SQL, Python) preferred.

Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels.

Strong organizational and project management capabilities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

#LI-Hybrid The base salary range for this role is listed below and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, all employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package. Base Salary Range
