Sporting Clays Guide Level 1

The Sporting Clays Guide Level 1 will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality sporting clays (shotgun sports) shooting lessons. Duties will include lesson planning, equipment selection, and preparation as well as the delivery of lessons for Biltmore guests. Guides will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all shotguns, necessary equipment, vehicles, and facilities relative to shotgun sports programs. Guides will ensure that all safety protocols are followed during all shotgun sports activities. Guides will work under the direction of the Crew Leader or designated supervisor. Guides will be expected to adhere to the Biltmore Guest Service Standards at all times while also being a role model of our core values. The Guide will also provide general assistance and support to the leadership, department, and company. Reserve: a position working 40-999 hours per year. Schedule can vary, but is generally 8am-5:15pm. Weekend and holiday availability are a requirement of this position. Essential Job Duties

Responsible for meeting Biltmore performance and service standards necessary to achieve highest levels of guest satisfaction. Maintain and prep all necessary equipment in order to ensure smooth and consistent delivery of each and every lesson. Is responsible for managing a safe environment during each lesson and to ensure that equipment and vehicles are in optimum working order. Manages time and guest expectations appropriately to ensure that each lesson meets all aspects of guest satisfaction within our Biltmore service standards. Returns all equipment and vehicles to the appropriate place and ensures that each item used will be ready to go out into the field as soon as needed. Sets a high professional standard and serves as a role model for all staff in the delivery of exceptional guest service. Additional Responsibilities

Duties and projects as assigned by the Crew Leader or designated supervisor. Gains knowledge about all aspects of the working estate and competency in appropriately cross-selling other services and amenities across the property. Works collaboratively and cooperatively with all other Biltmore employees and departments. Ability to quickly learn estate history, products, and services, and should be knowledgeable about Asheville and Western North Carolina. Provide general assistance and support to the leadership, department, and company as required. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional education, training, and/or certification(s) preferred. NSCA or NRA Certification is strongly preferred. At least one (1) year of related experience in firearms handling or instruction. The ideal candidate will have had prior experience in the same or similar role working in an upscale outdoor recreation or guest service environment. Candidates must be familiar with all safety regulations and procedures related to shooting instruction. Candidates not already NSCA or NRA certified will be required to obtain certification Knowledge of program development and delivery for all age and experience levels preferred. Should be comfortable working with a wide range of audiences and be able to adjust style and tone accordingly. Ability to quickly learn estate history, products, and services, and should be knowledgeable about Asheville and Western North Carolina. Demonstrated commitment to providing world class internal and external guest service. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to convey information clearly, concisely, and effectively. Should be comfortable with public speaking and working with diverse audiences. Strong planning, organization and time management skills. Must be able to prioritize work with a focus on safety, quality, and with attention to detail. Must be able to be proactive, take initiative, exercise good judgment, and creatively problem solve. Ability to represent the program and company in a professional manner consistent with standards is a must. Should be able to handle basic guest service issues with diplomacy and tact. Current certification in First Aid/CPR will be required. Applicant must either have such certification or be able to be trained and certified within first month of employment. Physical Requirements

Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather with fluctuations in temperature and conditions. Ability to work effectively with exposure to dirt, dust, pollen, and other particulates. Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds frequently. Should be able to kneel, bend, reach overhead, and stoop as needed. Manual dexterity to safely handle firearms and operate equipment. Ability to operate company commercial vehicles (i.e. van, etc.). Must have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record for the past three (3) years, and be at least 19 years of age. A NC Commercial Driver's License preferred.
