Outdoor Pursuits Attendant
This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: Atlantic Fields, set outside of Hobe Sound, FL. Atlantic Fields is seeking an Outdoor Pursuits Attendant to join the Outdoor Pursuits Department. The Outdoor Pursuits Attendant will ensure that the highest level of service is offered to the members of our Club by providing the member with personal and professional service throughout the property when pertaining to any and all outdoor activities. The Outdoor Pursuits Attendant role is a very hands on role and encompasses the organization, instructing, and encouraging of activities, and as much participation as possible in all activities on property. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees. Key Responsibilities Follow Outdoor Pursuits SOPs to deliver safe, seamless, and exceptional experiences. Provide lifeguard and safety cover for all water-based activities. Assist with setup, operation, and breakdown of activitiespaddleboarding, kayaking, fishing, wake surfing, nature walks, youth camps, and more. Keep all equipment clean, organized, and ready for action. Support cross-department events with Golf, Culinary, and Member Services for unforgettable moments. Maintain stock control and assist with monthly inventories. Attend team meetings, training sessions, and daily briefings Member Related Greet every member warmly, making them feel instantly welcome. Lead and participate in games, sports, and seasonal events for all ages. Set up and arrange seating, umbrellas, and amenities for comfort and style. Keep towels, sunscreen, and other essentials fully stocked. Assist members in and out of the water, ensuring safetyespecially for children. Share local knowledge, from wildlife to hidden gems on property, to enrich their experience. Build genuine connections with members and families, remembering their preferences for future visits. Capture and share special moments (when appropriate) to create lasting memories. Skills & Qualifications Guest service, hospitality, or recreation experience preferred. CPR certification strongly preferred; boat captain's license a plus. Skilled swimmer, confident in pools and open water. Experience with outdoor equipment (paddleboards, fishing gear, boats) a plus. Energetic, outgoing, and great with kids and families. Quick-thinking and adaptable to weather or schedule changes. Passion for the outdoors, adventure, and creating unforgettable guest experiences. Additional Requirements Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members. Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
