Fire Control Test Subject Matter Expert And Hardware Engineer
The Multipurpose Interactive Trainer (MIT) program is hiring a Fire Control Test subject matter expert and hardware engineer. Our team delivers cutting edge training systems to the submarine fleets of both the US Navy and Royal Australian Navy. The work is fast-paced and exciting, and often involves integrating software builds that are not yet complete in order to deliver training for systems and capabilities that are not yet present in the Submarine Fleet. Training is deployed to Navy Bases including San Diego, Pearl Harbor, Bangor, Norfolk, Groton, Kings Bay and Perth, Australia. Requires a Bachelor's or Technology degree in Engineering or a related specialized area/field, or equivalent (4 years job-related experience). Requires an additional 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree. Your Role As A Fire Control Test Subject Matter Expert:
Develops and executes test plans to prepare training systems for delivery Develops and executes system verification test documentation at customer sites to sell-off deliverable systems Instructs in the operation and maintenance of the system, providing technical expertise to customers, users, and company personnel Participates in the tactical planning and design of the system by attending system operation demos at industry partner locations Designs, develops, analyzes, troubleshoots and provides technical skills during research and product development Your Role As A Hardware Technician:
Installs, configures, tests, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots development hardware Supports the design and implementation of hardware infrastructure Effectively participates on the engineering work team and supports other team members concerning design, materials, equipment setup/maintenance and related issues Maintains hardware inventory and documents hardware configuration changes Supports analysis of power/cooling requirements for server room sustainment Required Skills: Expert knowledge of the AN/BYG-1 Combat Control System Experience working with the SWFTS community Significant experience and understanding of installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network and computer hardware Builds effective internal/external working relationships Shows initiative on assignments, exercises independent judgment, and professionally executes projects with little direction Demonstrates effective written and verbal communications skills Demonstrates problem solving skills when resolving process and technical issues Travel will be required Preferred Experience: Experience with Navy Submarine Design Experience with MPA, NECDIS, Strike, ISAT Experience with AN/BVY-1 Experience with AN/BQQ-10 Experience with AN/BLQ-10 Basic Linux command line navigation skills
