Stock Selector

The Stock Selector is primarily responsible for accurately picking store orders from the existing warehouse inventory utilizing technology to locate products. The Stock Selector will utilize a Lift Truck class II Picking machine to accurately and timely gather products to fulfill store orders. The timeliness of fulfilling and completing orders are critical to meeting deliver deadlines to the stores. Stock Selectors must always be on time and able to work long hours on their feet. They must be neat, skillful and quick in their movements in order to fulfill the requirements of making the store orders in a timely manner. They must be very "picky" when it comes to ensuring the quality of orders are fulfilled accurately. Duties include the following (but are not limited - other duties may be assigned): Be able to utilize a hand-held gun to select items for stores Locate products using technology (Hand-held gun) Retrieve orders according to quantity, size etc. ensuring accuracy Build pallets with orders and position them to loading docks Wrap orders before loading on trucks Maintain equipment and report on malfunctions Adhere to health & safety policies and quality standards Other duties/responsibilities: Maintains high ethical standards in the workplace. Skills and abilities: Capable of operating Class 1,2,3,4 & 5 (stand up, sit down electric, electric pallet jack, sit down internal combustion engine solid/cushion tire, Pneumatic tires) lift trucks to assist in material handling responsibilities Capable of learning and utilizing a hand-held unit and understanding the functions of the warehouse software to accurately maintain warehouse inventory accuracy Education & Experience: Strong work ethic supported by a pleasant and positive attitude. Language Ability: Speak, read and write in English. Work Environment: Fast-paced environment that may be demanding and/or stressful Large warehouse environment Able to work in ambient temperature of the warehouse, maybe exposed to working in a dry, chill or frozen container held on our warehouse docks. Noise level is moderate, susceptible to frequent lift truck horns, lifting and removal of dock leveler being dropped onto containers. Will be susceptible to heights on the picking machine, requiring Selectors to wear a safety harness for fall protection.
