Senior-Level System Administrator

Kentro is hiring a cleared Senior-Level System Administrator to support the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. Responsibilities include: Perform full system upgrades and repairs (Linux and Windows) (monthly) Install software releases and upgrades on Linux and Windows (monthly) Evaluate and install security patches (IAVAs) (weekly as needed) Maintain group policies and procedures (monthly) Set up and ensure operation of mount scripts for Windows (daily as needed) Acquire system accreditations (monthly) Troubleshooting and Technical Support: Troubleshoot and repair operating system (OS) and hardware issues (daily as needed) Troubleshoot and repair all software issues (daily as needed) Troubleshoot network issues (daily as needed) Train customer on proper usage of software (daily as needed) Set up, test, and maintain Twist software, workflows, and hardware Set up, test, and maintain Litho workstations software and hardware (daily as needed) Set up and maintain samba mounts for Windows (daily as needed) Security and Compliance: Conduct audit and log reviews (weekly as needed) Ensure personnel comply with system security policies (daily as needed) Maintain a log of system problems, errors, failures, and downtime metrics Backup, Recovery, and Data Management: Perform daily and weekly system backups and recovery Update/create tables, fields, relationships, and indexes (as needed) Administer the Print on Demand (PoD) and the Intent-to-Publish (NIP) database User and Identity Management: Create and ensure operation of Active Directory and DNS (daily as needed) Create accounts and set up user-specific access (daily as needed) Ensure customer log on (daily as needed) Asset and Configuration Management: Maintain hardware and software inventory lists (GFI-provided) Manage all software licensing information (daily as needed) Service Request and Infrastructure Provisioning: Submit requirements within Service+ for any compute, storage, database, SharePoint, or Tableau infrastructure provisioning Location: On-site in the Washington, DC Metro Salary Range: $160,000-175,000. Factors influencing pay within this range include geography, market demand, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Requirements: 8-10 years of relevant experience in the following: Proficiency in Linux (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments Familiarity with samba mounts, mount scripts, and system file sharing between OS platforms Experience with Active Directory and DNS management Experience with System/Windows Administration, for example: System installation, upgrades, and patching Configuration and management of group policies Experience managing system backups and recovery Performing system audits and log reviews Knowledge of IAVA compliance and security patching Experience with hardening Windows instances per DISA STIG or equivalent PowerShell scripting Local Group Policy Updates/Management Users and Group Management Windows File Shares Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) or cloud architecture Amazon EC2 (create and update Amazon Machine Images) Amazon S3 (configure bucket policies, Amazon VPC endpoints) AWS Lambda Amazon CloudWatch Amazon VPC (manage Security Groups, Subnets, etc.) AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) Knowledge of SQL and relational databases like Oracle and SQL Server Designing, developing, and testing of production-ready reports Implementing logical and physical data modeling concepts Diagnosing and repairing hardware and software issues Installing, testing, and maintaining commercial and custom applications (e.g., Twist, Litho) Managing software licenses and inventory Understanding of system hardening, security policies, and access controls Clearance: Must have an active TS/SCI with willingness to take CI Poly.
