About This Position
The Connection Systems team has an exciting product engineering opportunity located in Warren, OH at our Champion Technical Center. Under the direction of a product engineering supervisor, the successful candidate will serve as a product engineer working on the next generation of high power connection systems for electric vehicles. Responsibilities And Duties
Product architect owning the mechanical/electrical design of next generation high voltage inlet products from concept to production, including: Detailed design ownership Prototype development Design/Product Validation (DV/PV) High volume production implementation (PPAP) Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CAD, simulation, materials, manufacturing, etc.) to ensure flawless product launch Work with suppliers/vendors to ensure parts meet specifications Support customer production issues using structured problem solving and root cause analysis Identify, prioritize, and resolve program/customer issues Support business pursuits and deliver technical presentations to leadership and customers Collaborate on product technology roadmap development Support global Aptiv teams in other business units/regions Travel to suppliers and global sites as needed Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering 3+ years' automotive product design experience or equivalent Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Experience in DFM, DFA, tolerance analysis, GDT for high volume manufacturing Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) Experience driving electro-mechanical architecture decisions Proficiency in 3D CAD (NX preferred) Knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes Prototyping experience Working knowledge of FEA/moldflow/thermal analysis Experience in failure analysis and DOE creation Project/program management experience Results-oriented with strong execution skills Team-oriented with excellent organizational abilities Adaptable in rapidly changing environments Traits We Seek
