Environmental Manager

The Environmental Manager is responsible for ensuring that the organization complies with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role plays a critical role in driving sustainability initiatives and ensuring the company operates in an environmentally safe and responsible manner. This position can be located in one of the following locations: Charlotte, NC; Roanoke, VA; Richmond, VA; or Martinsville, VA. Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all environmental laws, regulations, and standards (EPA, OSHA, etc.). Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures. Conduct environmental audits and risk assessments. Oversee waste management, pollution control, and emissions monitoring programs. Manage environmental reporting and documentation, Tier 2 reporting Lead environmental incident investigations and recommend corrective actions. Coordinate with regulatory agencies and represent the company in environmental matters. Train staff in environmental best practices and compliance requirements. Drive continuous improvement in environmental performance and sustainability goals. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or at least 10 years of verified experience. 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance, sustainability, or related fields. Experience with environmental management systems. Strong understanding of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams. Work Environment: Primarily office-based with up to 50% regional travel for site visits, regulatory meetings, conferences, or training sessions and other business-related activities. Occasional exposure to environmental hazards during site assessments. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday. Travel may be required based on operational needs. Benefits
