Conversation Designer

As a Conversation Designer at Hippocratic AI, you will design, prototype, and refine user-centric conversational flows for LLM-driven healthcare AI applications. You'll collaborate closely with clinicians, researchers, engineers, and product teams to ensure that all AI interactions are natural, empathetic, and effective across a variety of usability contexts, including patient intake, follow-up instructions, and clinical guidance. Your work will directly influence the safety, clarity, and success of AI interactions in real-world healthcare settings. Responsibilities Develop LLM-native conversational interactions tailored to healthcare scenarios. Create voice-based conversational designs that prioritize safety, empathy, and clarity while adapting to various contexts (e.g., patient interactions, clinician support). Collaborate with clinicians and engineers to design LLM prompts and responses that enhance interaction quality and effectiveness. Partner with the user research team to gather and incorporate feedback from healthcare providers to refine designs and ensure alignment with clinical workflows. Define and promote best practices and design guidelines for conversational interfaces in healthcare, ensuring consistent and high-quality interactions. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience in product design, UX design, or conversation design. Experience designing voice-enabled or text-based interaction flows across various device types and contexts. Knowledge of conversational design principles, including cooperative principles, turn-taking, pragmatics, and cognitive load. Portfolio, website, or relevant work samples showcasing your conversational design work (please provide viewable links or access instructions). Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field. 5+ years of experience designing conversational experiences, ideally with LLMs or AI-driven products. Experience working in healthcare, with an understanding of clinical workflows and patient-facing applications. Familiarity with speech and language technologies, including ASR, NLU, and TTS. Knowledge of safety and accessibility considerations in designing conversational systems.
