Senior Procurement Manager
The Senior Procurement Manager is responsible for sourcing and procurement activities to support new product development and launches in the North America Commercial HVAC Equipment Supply Chain group. This position will have a focus on Carrier's Data Center initiatives. Performing both tactical and strategic sourcing tasks, the Senior Procurement Manager manages all aspects of the sourcing and procurement process to ensure a smooth transition of activity to the producing factory Purchasing and Materials teams. Internal focus on driving WHQ sourcing strategies and platform commonality of design with the Europe and Asia platforms. External focus on developing and maintaining excellent supplier relationships, develop existing and new sources, and develop sourcing strategies to continuously improve supply chain resiliency and product cost. Key Responsibilities Manage the sourcing specialists who have assigned commodities Represent supply chain in the global platform management team and influence program scope to leverage global sourcing strategies and suppliers Meet cost targets, program launch milestones and maintaining platform metrics Integrate global category strategies with program deliverables Drive standard work for the sourcing processes i.e., sourcing strategies, procurement plans, request for quotations, sample part procurement, supplier and part qualification and transition to factory sustaining team Locate suppliers of materials and components and perform quantitative supplier selection for new products Support sourcing leads to negotiate contracts and formulate policies with suppliers including inventory stocking strategies to meet market lead time requirements and management of supplier activities in support of program milestones and production launch Drive commodity strategy goals for cost reduction and Days-Payable-Outstanding (DPO) improvement Develop regional, alternate qualified sources to ensure a resilient supply chain Coach and mentor members of the NPI sourcing team Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree 8+ years of purchasing, supply chain, or operations experience within industrial manufacturing Preferred Qualifications HVAC industry experience Material Requirements Planning (MRP), inventory management, factory assembly processes and bills of material Energetic and success driven English verbal and written communications skills Ability to be persuasive and make management presentations Succeed in the day-to-day management of competing priorities Technical knowledge / understanding of the commercial HVAC product industry or ability to learn expeditiously Organized with attention to detail, follow-up and follow-through skills Advanced quantitative spreadsheet analysis skills to organize and analyze data efficiently Pay Range: $109,456 - $191,938 Annually Carrier is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
