Hourly: $25 Position Summary: The Educational Coordinator assists the Director of Workforce Development in overseeing adolescent employment programs, including the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) and Work, Learn & Grow. Responsibilities encompass developing work readiness initiatives to support teens in their pursuit of college and career objectives. This includes the creation of internships, job shadowing opportunities, and job development activities both pre- and post-college graduation. Additionally, the Educational Coordinator role involves designing and implementing curriculum and activities for the Youth Employment and learning experience for individuals aged 14 to 19. These activities are meticulously sequenced and infused with opportunities for social, emotional, academic, and workforce development skill acquisition, aligning with the needs and interests of the students. The position also includes mentoring and coaching students throughout the program, regularly reviewing their action plans for project-based learning (PBL), and working diligently to foster a safe and welcoming environment conducive to effective learning. Essential Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Workforce Development, the Educational Coordinator's responsibilities include the following: Attend monthly DYCD/ Children's Aid meetings and trainings and relay pertinent information to colleagues. Facilitate work readiness workshops to teens served by the Division. Facilitate workshops to attract worksites. Develop strategies that connect jobs & careers. Maintain youth internship program attendance and generate attendance analysis reports. Attend database management trainings as required by funders and/or agency. Minimum Qualifications: At least 3 years' experience in the youth development field and/or work readiness. Knowledge and experience with work readiness curriculum. Associate Degree or equivalent credits required. Key Competencies: Knowledge and experience with work readiness curriculum. Experience or knowledge working with ZOOM and Google Classroom Must have experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, and implementation of structured programming for high school students. Must possess effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication skills. Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective. Qualifications
