Intelligence Program Planner
Tria Federal is seeking an experienced Intelligence Program Planner to support the DIA Deputy Director for Global Integration's Plans Division. This role leverages strategic and contingency planning expertise to develop and coordinate Agency plans aligned with the Joint Planning Process (JPP), Combatant Commands, and the broader Defense Intelligence Enterprise. The ideal candidate will bring over 10 years of DoD planning experience and a deep understanding of frameworks such as APEX and JSPS, with preferred advanced military planning education. Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) At least 10 years of contingency and/or operational planning or strategist experience within the Department of Defense (DoD), including experience in intelligence planning. Demonstrated understanding of the Adaptive Planning and Execution (APEX) system, Joint Strategic Planning System (JSPS), Joint Planning Process (JPP), and the Joint Planning and Execution Community (JPEC) Additional Qualifications: Prior service with a military service, Combatant Command, or Joint Chiefs of Staff planning organization. Advanced Planning Education: Graduation from an advanced in-residence program such as: Joint Advanced Warfighting School (JAWS) School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) School of Advanced Air & Space Studies (SAASS) School of Advanced Warfighting (SAW) Maritime Advanced Warfighting School (MAWS) Possession of a planning- or strategy-related additional skill identifier or service functional area. Completion of short planning courses (e.g., JECC Planners Course, Joint Combined Warfighting School) or similar training through intermediate or senior service schools. Proven ability to apply Joint Planning Process principles, perform independent reviews of plans and strategies, and integrate lessons learned into Agency planning documents. Responsibilities: Design & Coordinate Agency Plans: Develop, coordinate and assist with Agency strategic plans, contingency plans and supporting orders; ensure alignment across DIA and with Combatant Commands, the Joint Staff and the wider Defense Intelligence Enterprise. Joint Planning Process Advisor: Advise DIA planners on applying Joint Planning Process (JPP) principles to Agency planning documents; influence strategic and crisis-management concepts, risk-mitigation decisions and assessment processes. Planning Guidance & Operational Requirements: Provide guidance, interpretation and advice on planning issues; identify operational requirements for military operations and ensure they are captured in plans and orders. Oversight & Integration: Integrate operators, managers and planners to accomplish planning tasks; provide recommendations to leadership on planning issues. Coordination & Staff Support: Deliver a range of services to support planning efforts, staff actions, and coordination with counterparts within DIA and across the Department of Defense.
