Senior Benefit Analyst

Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Benefit Analyst to join our growing team in Chicago, IL. Assists Team Lead in servicing the overall advisory needs of the customer with an emphasis on all financial and technical consulting needs on a team. Utilizes technical expertise to retain clients by providing financial expertise. Role includes evaluating proposals, broking and marketing plans, financial reporting, benchmarking, underwriting, and renewal analysis across all health and welfare benefit plans as well as assist with other adhoc reports and analysis How You Will Contribute Benefits Analyst tasks+ Intermediate to proficient level of renewals, underwriting and reporting. Prepare and send monthly financial reports to clients with analysis of activity and large claim detail. Prepare intermediate level financial/underwriting exhibits as requested including but not limited to financial projections, large claim analysis, specific stop loss analysis, demographics analysis, IBNR, etc. Develop intermediate level reporting requirements and any deviations or customizations in those reports. Maintains intermediate knowledge of compliance and regulations in the benefits arena Provide guidance/training to Analysts. Mentor, guide and train Analysts on standard processes used by office and team, complex analysis and other methods of service. Prepare and present complex financial information to clients. Lead the presentation of and be the point-of-contact for technical and financial issues related to a client needs across all health and welfare plans. Other duties may be assigned. Licenses and Certifications: Must obtain and maintain active Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent License within one year. Skills & Experience to Be Successful Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business/Economics or equivalent work experience 3+ years financial experience with a thorough understanding and knowledge of employee benefits Proficient with MS Office Suite Microsoft Excel

Strong to expert level skills Strong analytical and critical thinking ability Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and exercise judgement Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills Demonstrates a sense of urgency and a proactive approach to meeting client financial requirements Pay Range $60,000 - $95,000 Annual The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
