Day Camp Counselor-Seattle Temple Day Summer Day Camp (seasonal, full-time, hourly) Reports To Children's & Youth Ministry Director

Looking for a responsible camp counselor (Lead counselor and support staff) to supervise and guide activities. There will be 20 kids max in the program, with 2 full-time staff and 2 part-time staff. The Counselor would provide a safe, positive, and supportive environment for campers to have fun social experiences. The job requires leading activities such as arts and crafts and encouraging children to come up with ideas that support their interests. We will go on 1 field trip per week, and also walk to the nearby park almost every day. Duties and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to) To provide a safe, positive, and supportive environment for campers Instruction and facilitation (or assist with) of indoor and outdoor activities on campus Oversee the health and safety of campers Utilize approved safety practices Provide appropriate First Aid and submit written reports to the Health Supervisor Create and supervise an emotionally healthy environment for campers as a camp counselor Complete designated paperwork, reports, etc., as a camp counselor Organize classroom setting Preparation before and after kids arrive. Qualifications: 18 years or older Child Care/Camp Counseling/Teaching experience Ability to pass a background check First Aid/CPR certification Able to develop positive rapport with campers Excellent communication skills Reliability Working conditions Counselor will primarily work within a classroom and outdoor settings on Campus located at the Seattle Temple Corps. Covid guidelines will be required to be followed.
