Maintenance Trades Worker

As the Maintenance Trades Worker, you will spend your days ensuring the upkeep of our beautiful North County neighborhood parks. In this role, you will: Clean, landscape, and maintain the parks, restrooms, facilities, playground areas and equipment, dog parks, parking lots, storage areas, pavilions, and hard-court surfaces. Perform minor repairs such as fencing, signs, restrooms, etc. Daily cleaning can include emptying trash and picking up litter both inside and outside the park. Remove refuse and paper from grounds and buildings. Work on maintenance projects, set up and dismantle tables, chairs, and decorations associated with special functions, and room/facility utilization. Operate light automotive equipment, light landscape equipment, and hand tools. Keep operating records, and complete material requests, service requests, and work orders. Keep a schedule of maintenance for assigned area(s). Perform daily safety checks and repairs. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times. Submit work orders to address issues that cannot be handled on-site. Work Hours: Full-Time, 40 Hours Per Week Work hours: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Work schedules may vary due to split shifts, rotations, on-call, emergencies, etc. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent education. One year of experience as a semi-skilled laborer in the care and maintenance of parks, landscape, athletic fields, or other similar grounds. Valid Florida Driver's License at time of hire. Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for five (5) years. Starting Pay: $17.72 (Step 1) Potential higher pay (steps) for those with multiple years of experience.
