IT Support Technician

Hanscom Air Force Base, MA Secret Clearance BLITS 3.0 Centuria, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), has been delivering IT, Engineering, and Scientific solutions to the Federal Government since 2002. This role will be to directly support the mission of the 66th Air Base Group (66 ABG) to secure information and information systems; to support mission success through effective and efficient service delivery; and to sustain required infrastructure and capabilities. As one part of the greater Air Force Information Network (AFIN) enterprise, the 66 ABG Communications and Information Division (66 ABG/SC) has responsibilities in two categories (1) direct actions in support of Hanscom Air Force Base (HAFB) and geographically separated units (GSUs); and (2) indirect actions to support the AFIN enterprise. Successful solutions for this requirement are expected to have strengths in four areas: integration, flexibility, AFIN knowledge, and technical expertise. Functional Systems Administration (FSA) Service Functions Duties: Ensure servers, workstations, peripherals, communications devices, and operating system (when identified), application software are properly configured for network operation, are on-line, and are available to approximately 250 users Maintain various Civil Engineering (CE) systems (client and server applications and web-based applications) to include: Automated Civil Engineering System (ACES), AutoCAD, ESS Refrigerant Compliance Manager for HVAC, Integrated Pest Management Information System (IPMIS), Biotrak, Environmental Quality Database (EQDB), Enterprise Environmental Safety and Occupational Health, Johnson Controls EMCS System and SCADA System Client and server applications and GPN support for CE systems, NexgenIT/TRIRIGA, ArcGIS, and E4Clicks Periodically review the customer organization's needs for computer resources Perform routine system maintenance such as backing up or archiving application data files and adding application software updates Serve as the system troubleshooter, a critical role in keeping the system operational Work with the installation WCSO to implement network security policies and procedures as outlined in the base network security policy Ensure end user training is conducted when applicable Implement software patches and security fixes as required by the AFNOSC or program management office Monitor difficulty reports, heads-up messages, and system advisory notices. Notify the WCSO for any evidence of system compromise Develop and maintain system accreditation. Provide inputs to the installation WCSO for systems covered under the network accreditation package Information System Security Officer (ISSO) Duties: Supervise the customer organization's IA program Implement and enforce all Air Force IA policies and procedures using the guidance within this instruction and applicable specialized IA publications Comply with the installation WCSO policy and direction Ensure all users have the requisite security clearances, supervisory need-to-know authorization, and are aware of their IA responsibilities (via IA training) before being granted access to Air Force information systems according to AFSSI 8522 Ensure all users receive IA refresher training on an annual basis Develop and maintain Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documentation for organization-specific systems connected to the Hanscom Network Report IA incidents or vulnerabilities to the installation WCSO Unit Software License Manager Duties: Ensure customer organization compliance with government, Air Force, and local policies, regulation and processes for software license management Accomplish local training and utilize approved tracking tools/databases/SharePoint site in performance of unit software license management Coordinate with the Base Software License Manager (BSLM), Client Service Technicians (CSTs), users, and/or purchasers for customer organization software purchase, installation, inventory, and reuse/disposal Ensure all software installed on customer organization systems is appropriately licensed, authorized, and recorded in the base software license inventory Perform an annual inventory of all software licenses and cross check with installed software on customer organization systems Provide guidance to customer organization personnel on software license management Prepare MICT Communicators for government approval and validation when required. Job Requirements: Windows Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 10, 11) Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel Ability to resolve issues quickly and efficiently Familiar with computer hardware and peripheral devices for identification and tracking purposes Strong customer service skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Highschool Diploma and 3+ years' experience DoD 8140 Certification, CompTIA Security+ certification required.
