QC/NDT Level 2 Inspectors are responsible to the Lead Inspector for examining airframe, engines, and operating equipment to ensure that repairs are made according to specifications; and certifying airworthiness of aircraft by performing the following duties: Performing Non-Destructive Testing using industry-approved methods in compliance with FAA regulations, OEM specifications, and company procedures Performing visual inspections and NDT testing (ex: Liquid Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, Eddy Current, Radiographic Testing) Testing tightness of airframe connections with hand tools and employs flashlight and mirror to inspect fit of parts Signaling Technicians to start engine and manipulate aircraft controls Collecting data to evaluate engine performance Examining assembly, installation, and adjustment of ailerons and rudders to ensure that workmanship and materials conform with Civil Air Regulations, company specifications, and manual procedures Determining accuracy of installation of components in power plant and hydraulic system with protractor, micrometer, calipers, and gauge to ensure that specified tolerances are met Signing inspection tag to approve unit or records reasons for rejecting unit Logging inspections performed on aircraft Briefing technicians on quality issues Performance of his or her own work and the work of the maintenance crew Ensuring the maintenance crew performs quality work Ensuring personnel are qualified for tasks performed and that proper procedures, manual references, materials, and tools are used in accomplishing work Assuring all paperwork is completed and signed in compliance with all existing regulations and procedures Signing the applicable paperwork prepared for units overhauled, repaired, or functionally tested; and ensuring that all forms are completed correctly Making appropriate logbook entries in accordance with the customer's procedures Completing FAA Form 337's for major repair or alterations Reviewing and submitting SDR's in accordance with customer's instructions Interpreting process procedures, specifications, and evaluation techniques specific to the NDT Inspection being carried out. Performing other duties as directed or required Requirements
Airframe & Powerplant Certification Minimum 3 years' experience (can be a combination of QC and NDT experience) Read, write, speak, and understand the English language at full professional working proficiency Undergo and pass a criminal background check resulting in the issuance of a badge from the Sanford Airport Authority (and Lakeland Linder Regional Airport, if needed) Travel to other locations as needed B737, B757, or A321 experience preferred ASNT Certification, Level 2 Work Environment
