Distribution Designer
This role involves performing detailed design of overhead and/or underground electric distribution systems. The responsibilities include preparing field notes, drawings, specifications, and design estimates. The candidate must possess the analytical competence to interact with a variety of individuals, including engineers and experienced distribution system designers. Responsibilities
Design overhead and underground electric distribution systems. Prepare field notes, drawings, specifications, and design estimates. Collaborate with engineers and other distribution system designers. Essential Skills
Experience working on CPS projects, specifically large or small commercial. High school diploma required. Understanding of distribution design, electrical design, and power distribution. Minimum of 2 years of experience in electric utility or telecommunications field preferred. Familiarity with National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) preferred. Knowledge of CAD software, with Microstation preferred, but AutoCAD or GIS is also acceptable. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate degree in electrical, civil, or mechanical engineering or a similar discipline is preferred. 3 phase underground certification from CPS is required. Proficient use of engineering software is preferred. Familiarity with underground design and three-phase systems is advantageous. Work Environment
The position is onsite at the San Antonio office. The standard workweek is 40 hours, with the option for additional work paid at a flat rate per hour if chosen. The office environment is professional and collaborative. Pay and Benefits
