VPI Operator
Electric Machinery Company LLC., a division of WEG Electric Minneapolis, MN The VPI operator is responsible for the overall operation of the Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) process as it relates to the manufacturing of Electric Machinery products. The VPI Operator position is part of the Winding Team skills matrix. This position works as a team member utilizing and performing to the Winding Team skills matrix, which outlines the comprehensive skills in the Winding Team. Major areas of accountability include: operating VPI equipment, operating mill, shear, band saw, drill press and other machining equipment, responsible for the start up and shut down of multiple ovens, mixing and regulating resin level, assuring VPI operation conforms to current procedures, installing bolts and release agent as required prior to impregnation, assisting Quality Team with wet tests, and interpreting and using routings, shop standards, process specifications, and work instructions. Additionally, performs routine preventative maintenance, may assist in other areas of the Winding Team skills matrix on occasion, lifts and moves materials using forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane or jib crane, demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement, and performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations. Knowledge/skills/abilities: High School degree (preferred) with one year of manufacturing experience (preferred). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, process and bill of materials. Ability to use a variety of measuring tools. Salary based on experience and qualifications. Pay types: Voluntary weekend overtime. Saturday is paid at time and a half, Sundays are paid at double time! Job type: Monday
