Principal Program Quality Engineer

Raytheon is seeking an onsite Principal Program Quality Engineer to join the Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) Program. The Principal Program Quality Engineer will provide quality engineering support and expertise to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements. The candidate must provide education and knowledge on the use of quality tools in the administration of the Quality System and apply quality engineering skills to develop and deploy effective methods for verifying and accepting processes and products. The Principal Program Quality Engineer will use analytical tools and methods to: improve product design; minimize inspection; solve fabrication problems; complete such specialized quality functions as data preparation, analyses and reporting; develop techniques and methods; support process improvements; complete special investigations and audits; take preventative and corrective actions; support design reviews and audits to ensure that quality is engineered into the product; and develop product acceptance techniques and plans. This is an onsite role located in Tucson, AZ. Relocation compensation will not be provided. What You Will Do: Serve as a program quality liaison across customer organizations (Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and United States Government (USG)), as well as relevant factories and engineering labs as first point of contact for quality issues and concerns related to development and production products. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partner with program managers to define and implement quality improvement strategies. Spearhead root cause analysis, facilitate corrective actions, and implement closed loop process controls to improve product/process predictability and capability. Lead Material Review Board (MRB) Support Supplier Quality and Supplier Engineering efforts to help ensure compliance to the Program Quality Plan. Review and approve changes to the technical data package, assign actions when necessary, and complete actions in a timely manner when assigned. This includes but is not limited to: Peer reviews, Engineering Review/Change Control Board (ERB/CCB) and/or Design reviews. Implement and support product quality strategies using methodologies such as Six-Sigma, Lean, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP). Support, monitor and track execution of First Article Inspections for both supplier and factory parts Support, monitor and track certification of special processes for supplier parts Develop, refine and present metrics to drive improvement and behaviors Travel expectation 10-25% if assigned. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and eight (8) years of experience in Quality, Supplier, and/or Manufacturing. Working experience with technical data package interpretation, review (TDP) and document repository. Working experience translating external and internal requirements and command media Working experience with ISO9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems Working experience overseeing teams in failure analysis, root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions. Experience exercising judgment and making decisions, with appropriate supervisory intervention, as an individual contributor in a dynamic team environment Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Location: Tucson, Arizona The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
