Senior Installation Specialist

Serco is looking for a Senior Installation Specialist to join our growing team supporting our US Navy installation program located in the beautiful surroundings of Newport News, VA. Serco supports the U.S Naval Ships with military and system installations. You will be part of a team that works closely with the customer and other Serco team members to deliver high technology performed on-board U.S. Naval Ships and military installations. In this role, you will: Manage and coordinate technical and administrative staff by assigning, scheduling, prioritizing, coordinating, and facilitating multiple tasks. Evaluate performance of subcontractors and staff in terms of actual and planned task schedules and resource requirements. Reviews work for quality assurance. Provide direction on projects from inception through completion and provide technical and managerial assistance on all aspects of project management to comply with the technical requirements of the contract for the customer. Compose memoranda, reports, and other documentation highlighting project steps and status for daily and weekly meetings with customer. Attend meetings and makes presentations about project status and work commitments. Ensure training of all staff members and instructs them on customer's methods, procedures, and standards. Evaluate, develop, or implement procedures regarding project documentation and development. Track materials, submit and track fabrication requests and support services. Monitor material deliveries and identify long lead material items. Track Liaison Action Request (LARs) and provide Level of Effort (LOE) estimates. Troubleshoots technical problems and takes corrective action. Reviews employee schedules and time-cards. Control Manning and provide input for additional manning requirements and/or manning deficiencies. Reallocate personnel as needed to support various tasks. Participates in long-range planning, analysis, and program design. Participates in the planning and design of new projects as requested. Manage various installations on multiple vessels from Task Award to Task Completion. Review, modify, and provide updates to support Plan of Actions & Milestones (POA&M). Maintain Communication with task leads on staffing and material requirements. Report possible changes and potential issues to PM that may affect cost and/or schedule. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent The ability to obtain or maintain an active Secret clearance. A minimum of 8 years experience Be able to obtain access to Shipyard and Government installations. Shipboard experience of managing a team of installers, scheduling and overseeing the installation. The ability to work in high heat spaces, climb shipyard dry dock stairs/ladders, work in kneeling position for layout of cable runs under false decking. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds with 80% of work requiring carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 40 pounds for majority of shift while being in a standing, crouching, or walking position. Attention to safety is critical. Knowledge of NAVSEA, standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of electrical repair, fabrication, and installation. Willing to work second or thirds shift as needed and more than 40 hours work weeks. Be available for immediate travel and willing to travel up to 50% of the time. Be willing to travel to various work sites such as Virginia Beach VA, Bremerton WA, Everett WA, Pearl Harbor HI, Mayport FL, and Yokosuka Japan.
