Are you a driven, hands-on business development and capture professional with a passion for national security and government contracting? Orbis is seeking a Senior Business Development/Capture Director to lead strategic growth efforts across the Intelligence Community (IC). This role is ideal for a self-starter with a deep understanding of federal procurement and a demonstrated track record of identifying, capturing, and winning high-value government contracts. Reporting directly to the Chief Growth Officer, this individual will be responsible for leading the full capture lifecycle from opportunity identification to proposal submission and contract award. This is a high-impact role with significant influence on how Orbis expands its presence across key federal intelligence agencies. Key responsibilities include: Leading business development and capture initiatives targeting Intelligence Community agencies. Identifying, shaping, and qualifying opportunities that align with Orbis mission, capabilities, and growth goals. Managing the full capture lifecycle, including pipeline development, teaming strategies, proposal development, and pricing coordination. Developing and executing opportunity-specific pursuit plans to improve win rates in both competitive and sole-source environments. Leveraging procurement tools and professional networks to build and maintain a robust opportunity pipeline. Leading or supporting the development of compliant and compelling responses to RFPs, RFIs, and Sources Sought notices. Partnering with internal stakeholders to create persuasive and responsive proposals. Building and maintaining strong relationships with government stakeholders, program managers, and industry teaming partners. Staying current on FAR/DFARS regulations and contracting trends impacting the Intelligence Community. Representing Orbis at key industry events and conferences to enhance visibility and engagement. Required: Extensive experience working with Intelligence Community customers, particularly large national security agencies. 10+ years of federal business development and capture experience, including successful wins within the IC. Deep understanding of the full federal procurement lifecycle and acquisition strategy development. Strong business acumen with a proactive, opportunity-focused mindset. Familiarity with OSINT tools and the ability to articulate the technical value of Orbis data solutions to federal clients. Proven ability to cultivate relationships across federal agencies and with key teaming partners. Proficiency in digital tools for BD (e.g., ARC, LinkedIn, SAM.gov). Experience with consulting or solution-selling related to OSINT and data capabilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for proposals, client presentations, and internal collaboration. Highly motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Clearance: Requires Active Top Secret clearance with polygraph. Education: Bachelors degree in a relevant field required. Masters degree (MBA or technical discipline) preferred; may be substituted with extensive experience and demonstrated success in federal capture and proposal leadership. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Routine video conference and/or in-person meetings. Ability to attend planned meetings within the Washington Metro Area region. Hybrid position with travel between McLean and Herndon, VA.
