We’re looking for a knowledgeable and customer-focused
Service Writer
to join our team. In this role, you’ll be the key liaison between our customers and service technicians, ensuring that tractor and equipment repairs are accurately documented, quoted, and communicated. The work schedule is M-F – 8-hour shift, Saturday 8 am to 12 noon.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for implementing process improvements and creating and documenting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Creating detailed service tickets including customer complaints, root causes, and corrective action
Building accurate work orders and estimates using labor and parts data
Explaining service needs and recommendations clearly to customers
Assisting with internal parts sales and pulling parts for service jobs
Using parts diagrams to identify and locate components
Processing point-of-sale (POS) transactions
Cross-selling and up-selling parts and services
Scheduling shop work and coordinating technician assignments
Providing regular updates to customers on service progress
Filing and managing warranty claims with manufacturers
Collaborating with team members to ensure top-tier customer service
Following up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction
Maintaining a professional appearance and attitude
Performing other duties as needed to support the team
Qualifications & Experience:
2+ years of experience as a Service Writer or Service Manager
2+ years of experience in the
tractor, outdoor power equipment, agriculture, or heavy machinery industry
Strong computer skills and ability to learn dealership software quickly
Excellent phone and in-person communication skills
High attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Team-oriented and customer-service driven
Valid driver’s license required
High school diploma or equivalent required
