Junior Software Developer

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Software Developer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in assessing the capabilities of the Missile Defense System (MDS). This exciting role will involve hands-on participation in a distributed Hardware-In-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation environment, contributing to Continuous Developmental Integration (CDI) activities, MDS Ground Test (GT) events, and MDS Flight Test support. The primary focus will be assisting in the development and integration of AI-powered automation solutions and implementing cybersecurity best practices to protect the simulation environment. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow in the fields of AI, cybersecurity, and modeling & simulation, while making a meaningful contribution to national security. Responsibilities: AI Development & Integration: Design, development, and implementation of AI-powered automation solutions in C++ to optimize simulation processes and data analysis within the HWIL & CLOUD environment Cybersecurity Support: Assisting with vulnerability scans, learning about security best practices, and supporting the implementation of security measures within the simulation environment. Cloud Integration & Deployment: Developing and deploying cloud-based solutions for scalable and resilient simulations using platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform Simulation Analysis & Optimization: Conducting performance analysis and optimizing simulation parameters. Develop comprehensive software analysis plans, procedures, and reports, providing actionable insights to stakeholders Software Development & Maintenance: Developing, maintaining, and debugging C++ code for simulation components, tools, and scripts within the HWIL environment, adhering to coding standards and best practices Collaboration & Integration: Supporting simulation integration, data analysis, and collaborating with other teams Requirements & Tooling: Establishing requirements for tools and processes and preparing technical documentation Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university or equivalent experience. 0-2 years of software development experience (including internships or academic projects). Strong interest in AI/ML and cybersecurity. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with government, prime contractor, and supporting contractor personnel Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively. Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently. Basic understanding of C++ programming language (Coursework or personnel projects). Familiarity with object-oriented design principles. Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts. Familiarity with cloud computing concepts. Cyber certifications Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of HWIL architecture infrastructure, including truth presentation utilizing DIS, CTI, and/or GTISS adapters Familiarity with MDA Ground Test CONOPS Knowledge of EO/IR systems Understanding of threat simulation and modeling for missile defense systems Experience with OSF Framework and software development projects Python scripting language. OSF Framework. Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
