The Structural Project Engineer will report to an assigned Project Manager in the Structural department. The main responsibilities include providing technical expertise in design, calculations, drawing preparation, and field reviews on Structural projects. The individual must work on multiple overlapping assignments and aim to develop into a Senior Project Engineer. Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Structural Project Engineer will regularly communicate with clients and design team members, representing RLG’s standards. Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
The duties include, but are not limited to: Solve engineering problems with guidance from supervisors Prepare construction documents for review Assist in technical reports and specifications Review submittals based on construction documents Use design software and validate results Perform planning, designing, and overseeing projects Research and analyze data for project planning Prepare design modules and calculations for structural elements Develop documents using BIM software Understand building codes and permitting requirements Coordinate with architects and other disciplines Perform other related duties as assigned Requirements: Skills / Abilities: Proficient with Revit software Positive attitude and self-motivated High attention to detail Strong communication and comprehension skills Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities under deadlines Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field Engineer In Training (EIT) certification preferred Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods Occasional attendance at technical events and seminars, some travel involved Must be able to lift 15 pounds Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
