Data Engineer, Senior
The Opportunity:
As AI and advanced analytics shift from research to operational deployment, the role of robust, flexible, and secure data infrastructure becomes mission-critical. You know that enabling real-world AI means solving hard data engineering problems—integrating graph databases, geospatial sources, real-time sensor data, and AI-native formats across cloud and edge environments. We need a data engineer with the depth and range to lead this kind of integration.
As an experienced data engineer on our team, you’ll take ownership of complex data systems, enabling the flow of information from raw collection to intelligent decision tools. You’ll help architect and build robust, scalable platforms for modern applications that include embedded AI models, multi-modal interfaces, and interactive dashboards for decision-makers. You’ll work closely with application developers, analysts, and ML engineers to operationalize data at the speed of mission.
You’ll guide teams in designing secure, production-grade data infrastructure—whether that means graph-backed metadata stores, optimized ETL pipelines across PostgreSQL and MongoDB, or deploying vector models inside containerized APIs running on AWS GovCloud. You’ll not only write the code but also design the workflows, evaluate technologies, and build infrastructure others rely on.
Work with us to turn data into intelligent capability at scale.
Join us. The world can’t wait.
You Have:
5+ years of experience as a data engineer, backend developer, or data platform engineer
Experience in Python and a compiled language such as Go or C++
Experience leading development of scalable, secure data pipelines and backend systems
Experience with multiple data storage technologies, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Neo4j databases
Experience with containerized environments, including Docker and Podman, and orchestration using Kubernetes
Experience working with cloud infrastructure, including AWS GovCloud, and with integrating APIs and services into modern applications using frameworks like FastAPI, Gin, or Streamlit
Experience mentoring junior engineers or leading small technical teams
Knowledge of data modeling, indexing, performance tuning, and data security best practices
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science or Engineering field
Nice If You Have:
Experience working directly with DoD data systems, tactical networks, or multi-domain operational environments
Experience with AI/ML model deployment and supporting AI-native infrastructure such as Llama.cpp, Ollama, or vector databases
Experience working with geospatial data and GIS tools like ArcGIS or Leaflet
Experience integrating large datasets into frontend apps using TypeScript, React, or Shiny
Experience with DuckDB, SQLite, or embedded analytical stores
Experience implementing observability and monitoring in data pipelines
Experience with secure DevSecOps practices in CI/CD workflows
