In the largest ever realignment of incentives, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) have committed billions to value-based payments that aim to promote care efficiency and reduced spend. The organizations that will succeed in this new model will move quickly towards predictive healthcare. PreemptiveAI is enabling providers, payers, and digital health entities to identify the highest-risk patients and prioritize them for care coordination and targeted interventions, in order to prevent escalations. Using deep learning to analyze real-time smartphone and wearable sensor data, its technology can map physiological health risk in real time, enabling the future of population health management. We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Scientist to build deep learning algorithms for our suite of mobile health sensing products. In this role, you will work alongside world leaders in AI for healthcare to develop, train, and evaluate new production ML models. To be successful in this role, it would help if you have: Enthusiasm for building tools that can meaningfully impact the healthcare industry Curiosity for the latest research in deep learning Collaborative spirit and willingness to work closely with colleagues toward a shared goal Passion for best practices in software engineering to produce well-architected, thoroughly tested, and clean code Required qualifications: Senior-level experience and MS or PhD in computer science or related field 3+ years experience as a hands-on, expert-level practitioner of machine learning 2+ years designing and developing deep learning algorithms Expertise in Python and ML frameworks such as Pytorch and Tensorflow Strong understanding of deep learning model architectures such as transformers and convolutional neural networks Knowledge of the state-of-the-art in deep learning and a passion for reading and implementing papers Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP Ability to effectively multi-task and adapt within a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and organizational skills Proficient in AI coding tools such as Cursor, Copilot, Claude Code, etc What’s in it for you?
