Define and lead the public API strategy and roadmap, including developer-facing capabilities like OAuth, SDKs, sandbox environments, and access controls. Own Mailchimp’s API externalization strategy — deciding what services to expose, to whom, and how they align with business and partner priorities. Govern and improve the developer experience, focusing on intuitive onboarding, clear documentation, versioning policies, authentication, observability, and support. Redesign the Mailchimp developer portal to better serve third-party developers — including onboarding flows, usage insights, API changelogs, and feedback loops. Establish API governance standards, including version control, change management, SLA monitoring, and partner onboarding protocols. Partner with Tech Partnerships and Developer Relations to support the external dev ecosystem — running programs, capturing feedback, and enabling third-party success. Clarify and enforce API scope and access policies to maintain security, compliance, and customer trust. Act as a product evangelist — internally and externally — advocating for developer needs, showcasing use cases, and resolving integration pain points. Measure and optimize developer platform success, including adoption, time to first integration, and developer satisfaction 8-10+ years of product management experience, with a deep focus on APIs, developer platforms, or technical integrations Proven success launching developer-facing products (e.g. public APIs, SDKs, OAuth, scoped access, developer portals) Strong technical fluency in how modern web services are built and consumed (REST, OAuth 2.0, scopes, rate limiting, logging/ observability, sandboxing, versioning) Excellent stakeholder collaboration, especially across engineering, design, legal, and partnerships Experience owning roadmaps that span both near-term delivery and long-term platform evolution Passionate about developer experience -- you think in terms of friction, onboarding, scale and delight Familiarity with marketing technology, customer data platforms, or integration, frameworks a strong plus Undergraduate degree in a technical or business- related field required; MBA or advanced degree a plus. Equivalent work experience considered.
