Job Summary for Cloud Network Engineer:
Byrider's Technology Group is investing in people, technology, and cloud services. We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Network Engineer to join our team. In this role, the successful candidate will design and oversee an extensive multi-vendor IaaS/PaaS cloud infrastructure to meet Byrider's current and future needs.
The Cloud Network Engineer must have significant experience creating new and moving existing workloads within our cloud infrastructure. The successful candidate will create and serve as the single point of escalation for the overall network, security, and connectivity solutions. Today, Byrider leverages AWS, Azure, and a hybrid collocation facility.
Specific Responsibilities for Cloud Network Engineer: Design and implement new network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of the current network infrastructure across the cloud footprint. Plan, design, and implement network management systems to monitor, diagnose, control, and measure the performance of multiple communication networks Maintain on premise network infrastructure at the corporate (FSC) facility (routers, switches, firewalls, WAPs) Maintain dedicated vendor links and VPN tunnels related to high availability (HA). Install, configure and support network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, DNS and DHCP Configure firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security. Proactively monitor and troubleshoot to maximize network performance. Enhance, maintain and develop technologies using tools like SolarWinds, AWS Native network services and automation technologies Deliver Network Design Document based on the requirements and best practices Familiar with Atlassian product suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Opsgenie) Influences team members and vendors to define, analyze, and provide solutions for voice, data, and image communications requirements Update network equipment to the latest firmware releases Enhance and monitor AWS & Azure Network Infrastructure Procure network equipment involved with network installation Ensure a highly performing, available, and secure network at all times. Skills for Cloud Network Engineer:
Knowledge of IaC: Ansible, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation Solid understanding of client/server, networking (router/switch), and Internet technologies Solid understanding of Cisco VPN technologies, both Client and Site-to-Site. (ASA, FTD) Knowledge of Networking technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPBGP, VxLAN Knowledge of DMVPN, IPSEC, and Encryption Standards, Network Security Knowledge of AWS and Azure architectural principles and key networking services such as AWS Global infrastructure, VPC, S3, EC2, Route 53, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VNet-Peering, Private Link, vWAN, ASAv, Firewall, Load Balancer AWS support services such as Route 53 (DNS), CloudFront (CDN), and Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) for cloud networking using public and private subnets, internet access, and VPC peering Networking in the cloud environment, DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, CDN, and VPN Practitioner-level network automation skills using DevOps and CI/CD pipeline practices: Python, Bash, Perl, Ruby, or Shell Scripting, YAML, etc. Educational Requirements for Cloud Network Engineer:
Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline; additional years of experience may be considered instead of a degree. CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certification AWS Certified Advanced Networking Experience Required of Cloud Network Engineer:
4+ years of experience in Enterprise Networking 2+ years of experience with Cloud PaaS and/or IaaS (Azure, AWS) 2+ years of Cisco & Cloud Network Engineering Experience
