Albany Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to provide exceptional care in the OBGYN General department. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will use your advanced clinical knowledge and experience to deliver patient-centered care in a supportive environment. The CNM will take on the responsibility for assessing and managing patients, ordering diagnostic tests, and implementing treatment plans while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for families. Key Responsibilities: Utilize your understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to provide optimal care. Conduct thorough patient assessments, physical examinations, and collect essential clinical data. Diagnose medical conditions, prescribe treatments, and carry out minor surgical procedures as needed. Ensure accurate patient coding for billing, maintain comprehensive medical records, and manage medical inventory. Provide leadership during clinical shifts, facilitating patient triage and smooth operations. Serve as a mentor and resource for new staff. Qualifications: Master's Degree from an accredited Midwifery program is essential. 4-6 years of relevant nursing experience is required. Proficiency with computerized medical record-keeping and billing systems is necessary. Professional demeanor with the ability to build trust with patients and team members. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are a must. CNM certification and state RN licensure upon hire are required. ATLS and BCLS certification upon hire are mandatory. This position involves a range of physical activities, including frequent standing, walking, and lifting. Adherence to HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality are essential.
