Television Producer House Public Information Services
The nonpartisan Public Information Services Department of the Minnesota House of Representatives is currently accepting applications for a television producer position.
The Public Information Services Department is responsible for nonpartisan legislative news and information services, including news reporting on committees and floor sessions, informational publications, photography, and television coverage.
Producer responsibilities include:
Communicate with committee and other staff to secure content needed for gavel-to-gavel television production.
Ensure accuracy and consistent implementation of content across all television production facilities and platforms.
Update the shared television production calendars.
Alert television production staff of any special production elements for live or taped, studio or remote productions.
Coordinate with the video journalist-producer on live or taped, studio or remote productions.
Serve as control room producer for selected productions.
Serve as back-up to the executive producer.
This position also performs several administrative functions during legislative interims.
An ideal candidate will have television production and/or journalism experience, experience working in a live television news or production operation, experience coordinating television studio productions, and experience working with on-air talent. They should also be able to meet deadlines, maintain a high level of accuracy, react quickly and accurately in a live television environment, work collaboratively with others, and be a motivated, self-starter. Nonlinear editing experience is desired.
Must have a willingness to do a variety of tasks and be flexible and able to work long and irregular hours, especially during a legislative session, including nights and occasional weekends. A successful candidate must have the ability to perform the services assigned in a professional, nonpartisan and confidential manner.
This is a full-time, at-will position that works in person with the possibility of some interim remote work consistent with House policies and department needs. Excellent benefits offered, including:

The House offers a competitive salary and opportunities for ongoing professional development. Starting classification and annual salary commensurate with relevant experience. Television producer range is $61,255.44 $110,259.84. The starting salary range for an entry-level television producer is generally between $61,255.44 $67,380.96 depending on relevant experience.
