Program Coordinator - Child Activity Center (Full-Time AmeriCorps Member)
Service Site: Arbor Place, Inc. - Menomonie, WI
Service Term: September 8, 2025 - August 28, 2026
Service Hours: Full-time, 1700-hour AmeriCorps term (51 weeks @ 34-40 hours/week)
Position Summary:
AmeriCorps members will provide capacity-building service at Arbor Place, Inc., helping to foster healing and recovery through meaningful engagement and community support. Specifically, supporting children and families.

Arbor Place, Inc. is a nonprofit organization in Menomonie, Wisconsin, offering prevention, treatment, and renewal services for individuals, families, and communities affected by substance use and mental health disorders.

- Coordinate and oversee enrichment activities for children while clients attend programming.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers serving in the Children's Activity Center.
- Ensure a safe, welcoming space for children and volunteers.
- Collaborate with Arbor Place staff to support parent-child bonding and family-centered programming.
- Conduct outreach to community partners to expand enrichment opportunities.
- Support volunteer appreciation, communication, scheduling, and hour tracking.
- Assist with Arbor Place events, programming, and day-to-day operations as needed.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills-verbal and written.
- Desired: Knowledge of early childhood development.
- Desired: Familiarity with substance use disorder populations.
- Ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Zoom, and Canva.
- Creative, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working in both office and play-space environments.
- Flexible availability including occasional evenings and weekends.
- A mix of sedentary office work and active engagement in play spaces with children under school age.
- Some outdoor work included in children's activities.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and sit/stand for extended periods.
- AmeriCorps Orientation: September 8-12, 2025 (Virtual)
- Site Training at Arbor Place: September 15-19, 2025
- Midterm Training: Spring 2026 (Location TBD)
- Monthly Team Meetings: First Thursday of each month (Online)
- Bi-weekly living stipend: $857.69
- Education Award: $7,395 upon successful completion
- Eligibility for student loan forbearance and interest accrual payment
- Mileage, meals, and housing for required trainings and events
- Health insurance and childcare assistance
- Valuable professional development and community impact experience
- U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident
- Minimum age: 17 by start date
- High school diploma/GED (or working toward one during service)
- Able to pass criminal, FBI, and DMV background checks
- Commitment to full-time service over other employment
- Weekly timesheets
- Midterm and final performance evaluations
- Member Service Plan and goal tracking
- Quarterly reflections and completion of foundational public health training (16-20 hrs)
- Community Health training
- Completion of member and exit surveys
