Scripps ophthalmologists and optometrists provide comprehensive eye exams to diagnose and treat a full range of vision and eye problems, covering specialties such as Glaucoma, Retina, General Ophthalmology, Neuro Ophthalmology, Cornea, Oculoplastics and Optometry. The Ophthalmology/Optometry teams at Scripps Clinic Jefferson and Scripps Clinic Rancho Bernardo are a tight-knit, established and knowledgeable group of individuals who support each other in career development and training.
The Ophthalmic Tech is responsible for:
Performing patient assessments and technical skills to accurately assess the ophthalmic status of each patient, including emergency procedures and medication administration as appropriate. Educates patients and documents patient interactions. Practices infection control Contributes to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care. Additional responsibilities include: managing technician schedules, supply and medication ordering and inventory. #LI-EE1
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
Current BLS card for Healthcare Professional from American Heart Association (AHA) Preferred Qualification:
One year experience in optometry and in ophthalmology Ophthalmic Technician Certificate preferred Completion of a certified Ophthalmic Technical program preferred Ability to scribe Epic experience
