within the Department of Medicine offers an exciting opportunity focusing on
non-malignant hematologic disease
at the main campus in Durham, NC. Candidates must be
BE/BC in hematology
and have completed a residency in internal medicine or an equivalent program, along with a hematology fellowship. Our clinical and research programs are expanding, and we are looking for junior to mid-career faculty interested in joining Duke’s vibrant Hematology Division. We seek faculty with a focus on clinical practice.
Our key clinical and research areas include Hemostasis & Thrombosis, Cytopenias, Myeloproliferative Neoplasms, Apheresis, and Sickle Cell Disease. Teaching opportunities are available for Hematology/Oncology fellows, interns, residents, and medical students. Physicians passionate about clinical work, education, and research are encouraged to apply. Unique opportunities within the Hematology Division include: Growing current clinical and translational research programs to complement basic science research. A transition clinic with pediatrics for sickle cell disease patients and shared clinics with maternal-fetal medicine. Involvement with clinical laboratory services such as Coagulation and Platelet Antibody Laboratories, and the Transfusion Service. Opportunities for clinical effort and leading research at off-campus locations. Expanding telehealth services. Participation in the apheresis service, which has a strong clinical and research component. Access to the Hemostasis & Thrombosis Core Laboratory to support interdisciplinary research with Pediatrics, Anesthesiology, and others.
