Position Announcement Utah Valley University is seeking a collaborative and solutions-driven Web Applications Developer I to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will help build and maintain web and mobile applications that directly support the university's mission and enhance the digital experience for students, faculty, and staff. You'll work closely with experienced developers and the Web Applications Manager to implement innovative features, integrate APIs, and ensure stable, user-friendly systems. Your contributions will include writing clean, well-documented code, proposing system enhancements, and participating in collaborative problem-solving across teams.

Summary of Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the manager and engineers, develop and enhance web applications, sites, mobile apps, systems, and technologies. Contribute technical expertise to coding, testing, and implementation of new features and applications or functionalities. Manage and integrate approved APIs on assigned systems. Understand capabilities of systems and recommend possible enhancements where needed. Maintains excellent documentation of code, methods, and implementations that can be understood easily by technical peers. May assist in training new and existing employees. Collaborates successfully with co-workers and customers using communication skills such as active listening, clarity, concision, open-mindedness, respect, and constructive feedback. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
An associate degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience totaling at least three years. Understanding of web development languages like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Dart, and server-side languages such as Python and PHP. Understanding of Frameworks like JQuery, Bootstrap, Vue.JS, and Flutter. Proficiency in using APIs to integrate systems, with a thorough understanding of REST and SOAP protocols. Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with web application testing methodologies and tools. Ability to document technical processes, code, and system enhancements clearly and effectively. Experience in a team-oriented working environment, demonstrating strong collaboration and communication skills. Experience with training or mentoring would be beneficial. Understanding and experience with Agile methodologies. Exceptional problem-solving skills and analytical thinking. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into effective code. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks. Open-mindedness, active listening, and respect for diverse perspectives.
