About the job Data Warehouse Developer ETL (Towson, MD)
Data Warehouse Developer ETL needed for our education client in Towson, MD. The Data Warehouse Developer ETL will develop and maintain the Data Warehouse based on business and technology requirements and industry standard best practices. One year contract position. The non-negotiable pay rate is $51.00 per hour.
Essential Duties:
- Ability to work with SQL Server DBAs, system architect, and application developers to design stable, reliable, effective, and optimized databases.
- Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems.
- Assists in the formulation of business and testing requirements.
- Develop high quality deliverables.
- Follows all required software development standards, change control procedures, and security requirements.
- Ensure that the databases meet organization and performance requirements.

- Ability to build relationships with project sponsors, stakeholders, other technical staff, vendors, and end users.
- Coordinates and performs required unit, system, and performance testing. Works with other team members on User Acceptance testing and issue resolution.
- Participates in continuous improvement activities by identifying and analyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develops strategies for improvements.
- Produces status reports and communications on a regular basis.
- Support the Data Analytics Team in retrieving data from multiple data systems for use in data extracts, reports, and dashboards to ensure data quality before release.
- Create, execute, and monitor ETL processes including tracking and documenting findings.
- Create test scripts using SQL programming to validate data points against transactional systems and the data warehouse.
- Creating documentation needed to support repeatability of testing metrics.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of software development best practices is required.
- At least five years of experience in ETL methodologies and development is required.
- Degree from an accredited college with a bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Management Information Services, Business Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business or Public Administration, Communications, or a related field is required.
- Must have 3+ years of SSIS experience.
- Must have experience working with Azure SQL Instance.
- Skill in SQL Server scripting and data modeling are required.
- Understanding of Data Warehousing principles, concepts, and architecture is required.
- Knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office suite of tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio is required.
- Knowledge of programming concepts and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) is required.
- Must be able to work from 7:00 am-3:15 pm or 8:00 am-4:15 pm Monday through Friday with a 30 minute non paid lunch on site.
- Must be able to pass a FBI background check and drug test.
