Job DescriptionAI Operations Specialist - (Contract) - Hybrid (3 Days) - MA - 1-year w/potential extensionsOur Higher Education Client seeks an AI Operations Specialist with 3+ years' experience in IT operations and a minimum of 1 year focused on AI/ML systems and data pipeline support. This individual should have expertise within ML and data pipeline operations, Systems Monitoring, Incident and Data Quality Management, Documentation, Automation, DevOps and Security Best Practices, and Service Management. This individual will also possess 1+ year in AWS, Azure or GCP, the AI/ML and data engineering service offerings that come along with these. Candidates presented must be eligible to work on a W2 paid basis and local. No third parties please. Requirements BS in Computer Science, ML or AI, or another similar area. US Citizen, Green Card Holder or EAD/OPT, provided expiration is 2 years out. Must have W2 work eligibility as our client will not consider 1099 consultants or C2C. Must be local to Massachusetts and can be on-site 3 days a week. 3+ years' experience in IT operations and 1 year focused within AI/ML systems and data pipeline support. Expertise within ML and data pipeline operations, Systems Monitoring, Incident and Data Quality Management, Documentation, Automation, DevOps and Security Best Practices, and Service Management. 1+ year in AWS, Azure or GCP, the AI/ML and data engineering service offerings that come along with these. Responsibilities Performing day-to-day management, monitoring, and operational support for cross-departmental AI Systems and Data Pipelines. Ensuring AI solutions support data infrastructure functionality, meeting performance expectations, and continuously improving for maximum value and optimization. Ensuring optimal ML Ops best practices, data pipeline operations, system monitoring, incident management and continuous improvement. Monitoring system health, responding to alerts, troubleshooting performance issues, and implementing fixes. Quickly diagnose/resolve AI system needs and data pipeline incidents, while prioritizing based on impact. Coordinating with cross-departmental teams to include technical for system restoration. Operationalizing/maintaining ML models and production environments to include deploying, monitoring and managing life cycle. Maintaining/troubleshooting data pipelines performance, while detecting anomalies, and implementing proactive measures for system reliability. Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving AI system and data infrastructure issues, while prioritizing urgency. Demonstrating knowledge regarding optimization of AI system and data pipeline performance to include resource allocation, scaling strategies and performance tuning. Applying data quality principles impacting AI system performance. Creating and maintaining operational documentation to include runbooks and knowledge articles. Creating and implementing automation scripting and workflows for streamlined operational tasks. Making recommendations regarding DevOps and CI/CD principles applied to AI systems and data pipelines to include containerization, orchestration and infrastructure. Working with access control, data protection and vulnerability management regarding AI security best practices. Coordinating incident responses and communicating technical concepts clearly. Troubleshooting complex AI systems and Data infrastructure issues. Exercising knowledge of AI systems and data processing regulatory requirements in relation to higher education environments.
