The Division of Malignant Hematology/ Cellular Therapy and Transplantation, Department of Internal Medicine, at the University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, is seeking an applicant for one full-time academic position at the Assistant, Associate or full Professor level in the Clinical Medicine (Clin X) series or Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) series.
Candidates must possess an MD degree and must be board certified by the ABIM in Internal Medicine and hematology and/or medical oncology and be eligible for licensure in the state of California. Responsibilities include direct inpatient clinical care; lab/ translational research; teaching medical students, residents, and fellows; and university/ public service. Appointee will focus on clinical care and research related to hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), cellular and gene therapy, hematologic malignancy, and/or immunology related to graft versus host or graft versus tumor effects. The final candidate is expected to become a leader in translational research in his/ her area of disease interest, as well as in the design, conduct, and analysis of early phase clinical trials aimed to improve the care of cancer patients in the context of a well-established clinical research program. Clinical patient care is required and will include supervision of medical students, residents and fellows in inpatient settings. The chosen physician will join a strong clinical and translational academic program within the NCI designated UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center, which includes phase I-III clinical trials, investigator-initiated studies, as well as ongoing interactions with other cancer specialists. Possible leadership opportunities may be available based on the experience/training.
