Overview
This position works directly with employers in developing partnerships and job/internship opportunities for Professional Technical students at Everett Community College (EvCC). This role will directly assist prospective and current students with navigating career tools, which will match students with relevant EvCC programs. This position will provide career-focused support from admission through completion to employment. The role will also support students throughout their journey to ensure high retention, satisfaction, completion, and employment.

Duties & Responsibilities
Industry Engagement & Opportunity Development
- Conduct employer outreach and actively research potential job opportunities to increase employment placement for students, particularly those from diverse populations.
- Identify and solicit commitments from possible sources of employment.
- Attend workforce advisory boards, EvCC advisory committees, and industry meetings to maintain positive relationships with Snohomish County and Everett area industries, as well as stay up to date with sector trends.
- Make regular presentations to EvCC Professional Technical classes and update students about currently available jobs/internships/apprenticeships and job resources.
- Provide prospective and current students with navigation and career coaching tools to ensure alignment between job goals and academic programs at EvCC.
- Assist participants with navigating barriers to program completion and employment by identifying and troubleshooting potential challenges early and referring to appropriate resources.
- Provide students with individual job placement assistance. This could include: resume writing, interviewing, job search tools and strategies, job referrals, etc.
- Coordinate with EvCC Counselors and Advisors to ensure smooth transitions for students requiring academic advising services.
- Track all job development activities, workshops, placements, and obtained employment.
- Analyze quarterly activity and outcome data.
- Prepare, submit and present reports, updates, etc to supervisor and campus constituents.
- Assist in the implementation and sustainability of the Career and Experiential Learning Center by organizing online resources such as Widget Builder, Career Assessment tools, etc.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with intra-departmental staff and community partners in order to refer and assist students when needed.
- Provide excellent customer service to students, families, staff, and industry partners.
- Effectively transition between multiple work locations.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, human services, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Two years of experience providing career development, coaching, job placement, or related support services.
- Understanding of career development principles and job placement strategies
- Knowledge of higher education systems and student support services
- Ability to develop and facilitate engaging career development related workshops to groups
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with diverse populations
- Strong goal-setting and client/student-centered service delivery abilities
- Strong public presentation and communication skills
- Strong organizational and office skills in developing, managing and tracking program materials, processes, and procedures
- Strong human services skills such as coaching, mentoring, supervision, student motivation, and tracking of such services
- Proficiency with computer and mobile computing technology such as Wi-Fi, laptops, smart phones, Microsoft Office products, Google web based products, databases, etc.
- Previous work in higher education, non-profit or community-based organizations
- Previous experience developing relationships with prospective employers
- Previous experience working with students with disabilities and other diverse populations
- Bilingual or multilingual capabilities

- Typical hours Tuesday through Friday 9-7 and Saturday 10-2. Some travel may be required.
